The title mentions Sony SRS X speaker because it’s the speaker that I have but the tips on this post can be applied to pair any type of Bluetooth Speaker to your PC. When I paired my SRS-X2 Bluetooth speaker to my Windows 10 laptop, I couldn’t get any audio from the Bluetooth speaker. After trying a bunch of things I managed to fix the Sony SRS X Bluetooth speaker no audio issue in Windows 10. Here are the methods I used:
Fix no audio from Bluetooth speaker after pairing with Windows 10 laptop/pc
First check to see if your laptop has a Bluetooth connection. Then turn Bluetooth on your computer and then turn on the Sony SRS X series speaker. Press and hold the Bluetooth icon on the speaker until the led starts blinking. Now click on the action center (notification) icon besides the time & date on the bottom right of the PC screen. Click on “Connect” and your speaker will be detected. Click on the name of your speaker to start pairing. If your speaker is still not detected, it maybe a driver issue or a malware issue.
First run a quick scan using an antivirus (if you don’t have one download a free one example- open 360 total security). If your Bluetooth device is still not detected, go to your PC manufacturer’s website and download and install its Bluetooth driver.
After the Bluetooth speaker is paired with your Windows 10 machine the light Bluetooth light on the speaker will stop blinking. The audio output should come from Bluetooth speaker.
However, if you are still getting the sound from your laptop or desktop, you will have to change the audio settings.
To change the audio, right click on the volume icon on the bottom right windows toolbar. Now click on “Playback devices”. You should see your Bluetooth speaker in the list of playback devices. Right lick on the Bluetooth speaker and click “set as default device”. That should do the job. Now you will hear the audio out of your Bluetooth speaker and not your laptop or desktop.
