How to Fix Error 905 in Google Play Store Android Lollipop, KitKat, Marshmallow

Many Android 5.0 Lollipop users are reporting error 905 in Google Play Store while installing or updating apps/games. Here's the error message: "app" could not be downloaded due to an error (905). I am not exactly sure what this error code means but it may be caused by poor memory management or memory leak on a buggy OS. I got the Google Play error 905 while downloading an app on my phone that had recently received Android 6.0 update. The download bar would show progress but it would stop downloading right at the end and then this error message would pop up. Sometimes the error would appear right after tapping the "install" button in Google Play Store.

Android users are getting this error mostly while downloading large apps or games like Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word, Excel, Asphalt 8, Monument valley, Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft, Mortal Kombat X etc.  After some research, I’ve found some quick methods to fix error 905 in Google Play Store. These fixes should also work for  devices running Android 4.3 JellyBean Android 4.4 KitKat, Android 5 Lollipop or  Android 6 Marshmallow.
