How to backup your Android home screen layout/setting

Many Android users spend a lot of time setting up their smartphone or tablet's desktop with useful widgets and quick access folders for different category of apps. However, this desktop layout/design will get lost if you or someone accidentally changes it. Then you'll have to again spend time putting those items on the desktop. The feature to save the home screen layout isn't inbuilt on Android devices so users will have to use a third party launcher app like Nova, APEX, GO etc instead which provide such desktop backup/restore feature. Below are the steps on how to backup your Android desktop layout using NOVA launcher:

How to backup desktop layout in Android smartphones & tablets

1. First, install Nova launcher and activate it
   
2. Next, Add widgets, folders etc and design your desktop the way you like
   
3. Now open Nova settings >> "select Backup & import settings"
   
4. Tap on Backup and select a storage location.
   

Now your desktop is backed up and whenever you need to restore it simply follow the above steps to restore your desktop settings. Nova also allows you to import the desktop layout from another launcher.
